Peintre Français né en 1953 à Paris, Alain Carpentier vit et travaille à Brest dans le Finistère.
Autodidacte dans les Arts, il étudie au Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (Fr), (UK).
Ingénieur, il passe ses loisirs à dessiner, il se fait remarquer par son tempérament créatif, qualité qu'il utilisera dans le domaine professionnel.
En parallèle à son activité professionnelle, il se décide enfin à montrer à quelques esthètes sa volumineuse production artistique.
En 2010, une première exposition aux Pays-Bas marquera alors la reconnaissance de son travail.
Suivront les expositions individuelles et collectives et 2 premiers prix.
En France comme à l'étranger, il expose en Bretagne, à Paris, en Belgique / Bruxelles et Bruges, à Cologne, New-York, Osaka et Tokyo au Japon, à Pékin en Chine et Séoul en Corée du Sud.
Depuis 2014, il expose au Salon '' Comparaisons '' à Paris au Grand Palais.
Il fait partie du groupe '' Exubérantes écritures '' avec Jean-François Larrieu, Robert Combas, Antonio Ségui, Marblo, Jean Duranel, Anna Nansky, Yak Rivais, A-Sun Wu, Gordon Seward, Christian Mourey, Mikel Pollo, Grete Berg Stenmark, Drago Dedic, Paloma Chang.
En 2016, il intègre la Fondation Taylor.
Lauréat 2023 du Prix Joël Dabin.

Curieux de tout, intuitif et explorateur, il trouve les solutions pour faire cohabiter les styles, le moderne et le baroque, le Tag est sa signature.
La découverte et l'utilisation du feutre acrylique qu'il nomme "Le Trait Automatique" déterminera ses futures réalisations, entre autres la série "Les Verticales".
Son inspiration tient dans le besoin obsessionnel de créer, de reproduire un langage universel accessible à tous.

De l’indifférence à la différence
Initié dès l’âge de 10 ans grâce à une rencontre avec un peintre en Bretagne, j’observe et j'étudie à l’écart de ma famille.
Aujourd’hui, en France comme à l’étranger, je côtoie artistes et écrivains, je puise à travers eux ma différence et renforce mon esprit critique.
L'Art doit être accessible à tous. Chacun doit pouvoir trouver les clés à la lecture pour la compréhension d'une oeuvre.
Je m'y emploie : Mes toiles parlent, racontent des choses tout comme une bibliothèque remplie de livres d'histoires tirées d'ici ou d'ailleurs.
Mon travail s'enrichit de mon expérience de vie, des rencontres, des émotions ressenties.
Je ne suis pas « homme de mots » mais « homme de matières », l'encre est le point commun.
Chaque forme est une fenêtre sur le monde, sur la vie... et de temps à autre, la couleur vient déstructurer le tout.

From indifference to difference
Initiated at the age of 10 thanks to a meeting with a painter in Brittany, I observe and study away from my family.
Today, in France and abroad, I meet artists and writers, draw through them my difference and reinforce my critical spirit.
Art must be accessible to all. Everyone must be able to find the keys to reading for understanding a work.
I am working on this: My paintings speak, tell things like a library full of storybook from here or elsewhere.
My work is enriched by my life experience, encounters, emotions.
I am not a "man of words" but a man of materials, ink is the common point.
